NEWS- The Police in Mitooma district are investigating circumstances under which the former Mitooma Town council Chairperson and prominent businessman in the area Alfred Mugarura together with an engineer allegedly performed child sacrifice rituals.
Mugarura a former Mitooma Town council chairperson, who is also the owner of Moonlight bar and side view motel all in Mitooma Town council together with engineer Tito Tumwine who was contracted to construct a block at Moonlight bar were all arrested on allegations of sacrificing an 11 months baby belonging to one of his barmaids.
According to information got from the Child’s father Christopher Atwine, on Sunday night, the child mysteriously disappeared from one of the rooms at moonlight bar where they searched until they discovered that the body was thrown into the compound after the murder. They then reported the matter to police for action.
Police swang into action and arrested the owner Mugarura as well as all his employees to aid in investigations. It’s from this point that the Mitooma district Resident commissioner Francis Kibuka Amooti confirmed the incident and noted that according to the information they are getting, the incident could have been a case of child sacrifice.

Speaking at the burial of the child, Nyambwoha David the chairperson ward IV noted that a post-mortem examination at Mitooma Heath centre IV wasn’t satisfactory, forcing them to resort to another one at Mbarara regional Referral Hospital that confirmed clearly that the children was hit on head to allow the flow of blood out of the body.

Meanwhile Albert Kakwenzire the current Mitooma Town council chairperson denounced all those attributing the arrests to politics to forego their allegations and allow the bereaved family to get justice.
