The authorities at Rubaare town council have resumed works on a 1.116km road that will cost UGX.900M which have been stalled due to delayed funds from the central government.
Rubaare Town Council clerk Emmanuel Byamukama while speaking to our reporter confirmed that the stalled works on Rubaare central road was due delays in receiving funds from the central government in a phased manner.
The 1.116km road stretches from off Ntungamo-Kabaale road near leisure village and connects again in Ntungamo-Kabaale highway.
The road works include; bush clearing, grading, excavation to level, gravelling, priming, road sealing, chipping and drainage improving and among others.
Materials have already stocked along the site like stone dusts, aggregates and culverts among others.
Byamukama dismissed what he termed as false allegations from heckling residents and some section of councilors that stalled work on the road was due to embezzlement of funds.
He added that the road is in the final stage of construction and soon will be waiting commissioning by the authorities.
The Rubaare town council speaker Benson Karaara echoed the sentiment but stated that delayed completion of the road was due to delayed allocation of road equipment since the government can’t allow them to hire.
