NEWS- The Rukiga district woman Member of Parliament Hon Kamusiime Caroline Muhwezi has rewarded 2023 Primary Leaving Examinations best performers.
Speaking to our reporter after the launching of the distribution of mattresses which was held at her office in Muhanga Town council, Rukiga District, Hon Kamusiime pledged to continue rewarding the pupils annually during her term as the legislator.
Kamusiime attributed the high performance of pupils in Rukiga district to her annual reward of mattress to the best performers.
The Rukiga district principal inspector of schools Ndyabegyera Christopher warned school heads against putting fake announcements at the radio regarding the performance of their schools. Ndyabagyera praised the legislator for timely delivery of the mattresses most especially in this economic hardship, stressing that it’s a sigh of relief to the parents on the expenditure of their children as they join new education levels.
The Rukiga district speaker Oscar Akampurira and the Muhanga town council lc5 councilor Jacklyn Nkamushaba attributed the high performance to the legislator’s mattress project which has motivated the pupils.
The Rukiga district deputy Resident Commissioner Zadoki Kamusiime and Robert Kakwerere the district chairperson vowed to take action on school going children who have not reported back to school for first term 2024 since they retard the district’s development in education.
Some of the parents Twikirize Midius, Syliver Tumweyambise, Kyankunzire Patience from Bukinda Sub County and Muhanga town council respectively told our reporter that they were unable to purchase the mattress for their children who are joining the secondary level of education thus crediting the legislator for the hand.
Some of the beneficiaries of this project including Nabasa Joshua and Ahimbisibwe Maria Rola commended Hon Kamusiime Caroline Muhwezi for her efforts in controlling school drop outs at Primary seven level, something that has seen the area’s education take a positive notch.
