The Diocesan Secretary of South Rwenzori Diocese, Rev. Can. Nelson Walina, has called on Christians to cultivate financial discipline and initiate income-generating projects to improve their economic well-being.
Canon Walina made the appeal today while opening a one-day training for South Rwenzori Diocese Trinity SACCO agents, aimed at equipping them with skills on money management.
The church Minister emphasized the importance of transparency and faithfulness, given that the SACCO operates under a church-based organization.
Walina noted that the e Lord is faithful and He rewards those who are faithful. As SACCO agents, you are handling the money of the people, and it’s crucial that you are transparent in all your dealings.
He also noted that the training aimed to enhance the capacity of SACCO agents in managing finances and providing excellent services to their members. The South Rwenzori Diocese Trinity SACCO offers loans and retirement benefits to church staff and members.
Walina’s call comes as the diocese focuses on promoting financial stability and growth among its members. The diocese has been implementing various initiatives to support the economic empowerment of its followers.
The training was attended by SACCO agents and diocesan officials, including it’s manager Lay reader Among Nzenda , who pledged to uphold the values of transparency and faithfulness in their work.
