Rwakakamba an old boy of Rwabihurwa Primary School in Kebisoni Sub County

A total of Ugx 10 million in cash and pledges and 173 bags of cement was realised at a thanksgiving ceremony that was organized by Rwabihurwa Primary School Old Boys and Girls in Kebisoni Sub County at a function that was held at Mutaturwa Church of Uganda.

The function started with service led by the North Kigezi Diocesan Education Secretary Rev Nshabaruhanga Montilive assisted by Rev Bitaine and was attended by parents, pupils, old students and christians 

The Headteacher of Rwabihurwa Primary School Ms Natamba Glorious said that the Old Boys and Girls under the leadership of Robert Smarts Mugabe teamed up with the school Management to raise funds for the rehabilitation of the school which started as a private school in 1955 and in 1964 it started offering Junior School Certificate.

It is well remembered that in 1965, the school was one of the best in the country when out it’s class of 224 pupils, 175 passed in first grade and was ranked first in the whole country.

One of the old boys of the school, Morrison Rwakakamba contributed 100 bags of cement and helped mobilise over Ugx 1.9 million cash from his peers for the  rehabilitation of the school saying that it was right to contribute to the school that shaped their future. 

Rwakakamba hailed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for granting Kebisoni Sub County a Seed School in Nyeibingo Parish which he said will provide quality education to children who have been trecking long distances to the available schools and said that the nearby Rwabihurwa Primary School will provide the big numbers of students at the Seed School.

Rubabo County spiring Member of Parliament David Tushabomwe Ndindirize contributed Ugx 1 million and pledged Iron sheets while another aspirant Matthias Rwabugumi gave 30 bags of cement.

Rwabihurwa Primary School that started in 1955 by the late Canon Peter Rwabihurwa was the first Primary School in Greater Kebisoni and was taken over by the government in 1975.

The school has produced prominent people now serving in government and private sector while others are prominent farmers and in bisiness and remarkable among them is former Rukungiri LC 5 Chairman Katono Karokora, Commissioner of Prisons Apollo Akankunda Bakwate, former Uganda Investment Authority Chairman Morrison Rwakakamba, Senior Journalist Robert Mugabe, Herbert Rwabihurwa among many others.
