The Police in Rukiga District are investigating circumstances under which a 25 year old only known as Fakasi a casual laborer and Rwandan national, was allegedly strangled to death by unknown assailants.
The incident took place last night and his lifeless body was today March 29th 2025 morning found at Kitaburaza cell in Muhanga Town council in Rukiga district.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the incident and said it is alleged that, the deceased used to stay in Muhanga with his fellow village mates from Manyagiro village, Kicumbi, Rwanda.
Its reported that two months ago the deceased went to Kampala for work, and this morning when his village mate was opening to go for a short call, he found the deceased lying in front of the house.
He alerted his fellow casual laborers at Late Aponye’s garden and later the area Chairperson Kagurusi Benard who informed the Police at Muhanga Police Station.
Maate said that the crime scene was visited, well examined and documented by the district CID officer and team, the body was conveyed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination as investigations continue.
