KAMPALA- Dorothy Kisaka, David Luyimbazi and Daniel Okello have appeared before Kasangati court presided over by chef magistrate Beatrice Kainza.
The sacked Officials arrived at Kasangati Chief Magistrate’s court at around 2:00 PM, and were paraded before court on the criminal negligence that resulted in the Kiteezi Garbage tragedy which claimed over 30 lives.
Kisaka, Luyimbazi and Okello were dismissed last month by H.E. President M7 who also made directions that their positions be advertised by Public Service. The trio was detained on Wednesday as they responded to summons by CID.
Police detectives also yesterday drove the suspects for a quick search at their respective homes.
Following the incidents of August 10th where 35 people were buried under the rubbles of garbage heaps at a KCCA dumping site in Kiteezi ,President Museveni ordered for an investigation headed by the IGG and basing on her report.
The three were held responsible hence their sacking and subsequent charging.
Kisaka and her co-accused have driven to court under tight security in 2 separate police cars.
Several people including the Katukiro Dr. Joseph Muvawala and prominent lawyers are now at court.
