KISORO- The Police in Kisoro District have registered a serious accident involving a Democratic Republic of Congo vehicle registration number CGO 4642AE22 which took place Kagano village in Kanaba Sub- County along Kisoro-Kabale road.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the accident and identified the victims as Bahati Cubaka Jean Claude the driver of the fateful vehicle and others were Ms Bahati Tussi Justine, Muhindo Matembela, Kamala Mitume Boniface, Kambale Malemo and Kasereka Mbula all who were passengers.
Maate explained that it is alleged that the motor vehicle was heading to Beni in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo via Kabale side towards Kisoro and when it approached Kagano corner at a high speed, the driver failed to negotiate the corner and rolled down in the valley injuring all the six occupants including the driver.
Maate said that the victims were rushed to mutorele hospital for medical help and the motor vehicle was towed to Kisoro Central Police Station pending IOV inspection and a sketch map was drawn and statements recorded from the victims including the driver and Police Form 3 issued as inquiries into the matter continues.
Maate said that preliminary Police investigations blamed the accident on overspending and break failure.
