The Police in Kabale have registered a fatal accident involving motorvehicle registration number UBE 642E driven by unknown driver who is on the run who knocked a female juvenile pedestrian.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the accident and said that it took place today June 5th 2025, at Burambira along Kabale – Kisoro road and named the deceased as 6 year old
Arinitwe Favor a pupil at Progressive Primary School in Rwakaraba in Primary one.
Maate explained that it’s alleged that, the driver of the motor vehicle was driving from Kabale heading to Kisoro and when he reached Burambira after the Police camera, he knocked the victim who was crossing from left to right.
The accident happened when the driver tried to dodge the deceased but she increased speed and the vehicle knocked her and she died on spot, after which the vehicle lost control and went off road.
Maate explained that the scene of the accident was visited, motor vehicle towed to the Police Station, a sketch plan drawn, the body taken at the home of the parents as arrangements for postmortem examination were made and investigations continue.
