The Police in Kisoro are investigating a suspected suicide of a 57 years old teacher in Rubuguri Town Council who has been found dead inside his bathroom.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Nelson Tumushime confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Kamari James, a resident of Kashija cell in Rubuguri Town Council who was found hanging with a rope in his neck which could have lead to his death.Â
Tumushime said that the Police in Rubuguri Town Council rushed to the scene processed it and conveyed the deceased body to the Kisoro General Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination as investigations continue.
Meanwhile the in Rukungiri District, the Police have registered a suspected case of suicide after a businessman identified as Turyahikayo Milton, a resident of Nyakaina Ward, in Buyanja Town was yesterday morning found hanging on a tree.
Kigezi Region Police Public Relations Officer Tumushime said that the incident occured after the deceased went missing for the whole night but was later discovered hanging on a tree near his banana plantation .
The Police have since appealed to the members of the general public to avoid suicide as a means of dealing with stress and depression, aa the region continue to register an increase in cases of suicide especially the men gender, as two cases of suicide by hanging have been reported in the region in one day and the Police strongly condemn the act.
