The Police in Rukungiri District are hunting for assailants who are alleged to have murdered an unidentified man, whose body was discovered in the eucalyptus trees in Bishop Ruhindi cell, in Central Ward in Kebisoni Town Council.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed that the dead body of unidentified man was discovered on May 9th 2026, by Kamagara Medard, a teacher at Kebisoni Integrated Primary School and resident of Nyamambo “A” cell, in Central Ward in Kebisoni Town Council, when he was taking his goats for grazing.
Maate explained that Kamagara decided to go and inform the area chairperson Tumuhairwe Julius a teacher at Bishop Ruhindi Kebisoni High School, who alerted the GISO of Kebisoni Town Council who in turn informed the OC Kebisoni Police Station and they contacted Rukungiri Central Police Station for further management.
Maate said that the scene was visited, processed and documented by the Police and the body was conveyed to Buyanja Health Center III for postmortem examination and identification.
Maate tried to identify the deceased who was putting on a red under wear and a greenish t-shirt with yellow spots and a black trouser was seen beside him, about 32 years old and energetic.
Maate has urged anyone missing a relative, should visit the Mortuary so that the deceased is identified and taken for a decent burial and whoever may be having clues that can lead to those involved in the murder should cooperate and volunteer it to Police so that are charged accordingly.
