Motorists on tenterhooks as Police impounds 102 vehicles, 98 motorcycles in curfew operation

KAMPALA- The police at Nateete station are holding 26 suspects in response to increasing crime in around areas.

The suspects were arrested on 13th September, 2024 at around 8:00pm by a joint operation carried out by Police and sister agencies.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 26 suspects whom police say have been charged with public nuisance.

According to police, the operation was in response to public concerns over rising incidents of phone snatchings and thefts in Busega particularly around flyovers, roundabouts, and the Northern Bypass.

The operation commenced at the Busega-Kyengera flyover and concluded at the Busega-Mityana flyover covering key areas including Kyengera, Masaka flyover, Busega roundabout, and extending to the Northern Bypass.

Additionally, police also seized 6 motorcycles believed to be used by these criminals and are currently held at Nateete police station for further investigation.
