The Police in Rukungiri District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 22 years old man identified as Crispus Nuwamanya a resident of Kayaga cell in Kakindo Parish in Bugangari Sub-county.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident that took place yesterday 11th March 2026 night at Kirundo village in Rugoma parish in Ruhinda Sub-county in Rukungiri District.
Maate explained to journalists today that the Police at Ruhinda Police Station received information that robbers had attacked the home of a businessman called Muhoozi Vincent Taifa a resident of Kirundo village Rugoma parish Ruhinda Sub-county.
They responded at the scene and found one suspected robber identified as Crispus Nuwamanya was already arrested and badly beaten, while the second one had escaped an is yet to be identified.
The Police took a quick decision to rush him to the hospital, unfortunately, he died on arrival at Rukungiri Health Center IV and the body was taken to Buyanja Health Center III Mortuary where postmortem examination was done after which the body was handed over to the relatives for burial and two suspects named as Muhozi Vincent Taifa and Baguma Felix Kariwano were arrested to help the Police in investigations.
