The Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has praised the strong and enduring bond between Uganda and Ethiopia during a high-level meeting with the Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda, Etsegenet Yimenu.
The meeting took place tooday Monday 16th 2026 at the the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe, where discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation between the two countries.
Gen Kainerugaba commended the longstanding friendship between Uganda and Ethiopia, noting that the relationship has continued to grow through cooperation in areas such as security, regional stability and diplomacy.
Ambassador Yimenu reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with Uganda and enhancing collaboration for the mutual benefit of the two nations.
She also said that the engagement reflects the continued efforts by both countries to strengthen partnerships aimed at promoting peace, security and development in the region.
