The Police in Rukungiri District have registered a fatal road accident that claimed life of a 26 year old Rogers Abisinguza a boda boda rider and resident of Rumira cell Bugangari Sub-county.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the accident and said that Abisinguza died after knocking a pedestrian 28 year old man identified as John Bosco Byaruhanga, a resident of Kakirago cell also in Bugangari Sub-county.

Maate explained that the accident took place last evening April 5th 2026, at Kakirago Trading Center in Bugangari Parish along Rukungiri – Kihihi tarmac road in Rukungiri district.
It’s alleged that, the rider who died on spot was riding a motorcycle registration number UFS 906W from Rukungiri Town side heading the direction of Kihihi and upon reaching Kakirago, due to overspeeding knocked a pedestrian and the rider died on the spot, while the Pedestrian was rushed to Bagahwe Health Facility where is currently admitted.
Maate said that the scene was visited, documented and the body was taken to Bugangari Health Center IV Mortuary pending postmortem examination and the Motorcycle is parked at Police yard pending inspection.
