Traffic Police in Kabale District have registered a fatal traffic crash that occured today morning at Kyanamira Trading Centre along Kabale Mbarara Highway.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Nelson Tumushime confirmed the accident and said that the crash involved Motorvehicle registration number UBK 071L Fuso Fighter and a Motorcycle registration number UFD 939 Z.
Tumushime identified the deceased ne person as 39 year old Niwagaba Gilbert, a Boda Boda rider and a resident of Kyamugaba Village in Kanjobe Parish in Kyanamira Sub-county in Kabale District.
Tumushime explained that three individuals whose identities were not immediately known after good samaritans rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for medical care after they sustained serious injuries.
It is alleged that the driver of the FUSO FIGHTER Truck which was travelling from Kampala heading to Kisoro lost control and rammed into a parked Motorcycle, killing the rider on spot and left three other people seriously Injured.
Tumushime has since urged all motorists to obey traffic rules, avoid over speeding, reckless overtaking, and drunk driving and drivers should ensure vehicles are roadworthy and avoid fatigue on long journeys.
