Rukungiri Launches Signature Drive to Endorse Gen. Muhoozi for Presidency in 2031

The Office of the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC), in coordination with local leaders and the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU)—formerly known as the MK Movement—has officially launched a massive registration exercise for supporters across the district.

The launch event, held this afternoon at Rukungiri Inn Hotel in Rukungiri Town, attracted hundreds of leaders, including the RDC, Mr. Bron Kikanshemeza; his Deputy, Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongom; PLU mobilizers in Rukungiri District; community elders; and other stakeholders.

Speaking as the chief guest, Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner Mr. Bron Kikanshemeza explained that the initiative aims to register and structure supporters of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba at the grassroots level.

Kikanshemeza emphasized that the registration exercise is geared toward expanding the organization’s reach and instilling civic responsibility.

During the launch, Rukungiri District NRM Vice Chairperson, Hon. Ambrose Kibuuka, stated that the exercise is not only about numbers, but about organizing people under one unified vision.

Kibuuka added that the PLU membership registration drive and civic campaign in Rukungiri District is intended to solidify and demonstrate public support for its chairperson, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Rukungiri Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Chairperson, Turyahabwe Innocent, commonly known as Kaino, extended his profound gratitude to Rukungiri District leaders and residents for welcoming the endorsement drive aimed at supporting Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 2031 presidential bid.

Another PLU leader from Rukungiri District, Isaac Kaharuza, narrated that they are backing PLU under the guidance of Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to help protect the socioeconomic achievements of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government.

In addition, the Rujumbura County Member of Parliament and Security Minister also signed the book, pledging to actively mobilize signature collection across Rukungiri District.
