President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today attended the Egypt-Uganda Business Forum in Cairo alongside his counterpart President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and said that he couldn’t come go to Egypt without seeking opportunities for wealth.
President Museveni said that Egypt and Uganda have been connected by the Nile since time immemorial, yet their trade remains low, at only US 133 million dollars, a figure which does not reflect the depth of of the two nations relationship.
President Museveni pointed out that Uganda lacks, investment capital and entrepreneurship which Egypt can help them attain in a short time.
He made it categorically clear that Uganda’s economic growth is the result of carefully integrating philosophy, ideology, and economic strategies, however, there is need further reinforcement.
President Museveni said that by working bilaterally, Uganda can purchase goods from Egypt, and Egypt can buy from Uganda, thereby engaging the rest of Africa for a larger market.
