USUK CITIZENTS PICKING NOMINATION FORMS ON 1-9-2025

Electoral commission of Katakwi this week became congested after a section of residents from Usuk sub-county in Katakwi District voluntarily came to pick the nomination forms, wanting Hon. Ojaman Simon Peter who is the adviser to the ICU cultural leader to contest as a district councillor.

Led by Alex Ogwang, they pointed lack of proper leadership in their area hence prompting them to go for Ojaman’s nomination forms.

Ojaman aged 44 is a son to the late Gorge William Alepo and Rose Tino, all residents of Aojatorom, Ongema parish in Usuk Sub County.

Ojaman being a catholic with a humble background is married to Stella rose Imoit and blessed with six children.

He has served in various positions of leadership since 2001 where he was a secretary in the LC1 committee, LC3 councilor, District council and currently a special adviser to his highness Paul Sande Emolot-Etomaileng who is the ICU cultural leader.

He will be tussling with the incumbent councillor Raphael Ojakal (an FDC) and Okure NRM.

Speaking to the ICU cultural leader His highness Paul Sande Emolot-Etomaileng, he wished Ojaman well and asked the community to be united.

Emolot said that there is no law that prohibits the ICU workers from contesting.

Who is Ojaman?

Ojaman is the influential politician who has made the public vibrate through drumming support for NRM party, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, vice president Jessica Alupo and the State Minister for Education and sports (SPORT) Hon. Peter Ogwang.

He also campaigned for Richard Ongorok who defeated the incumbent Usuk county MP Bosco Okiror on the NRM ticket.

He has nurtured his son Abraham Alepo who is now vying for the Eastern Youth MP in the NRM ticket.

In 2001-2006, he became a secretary in the LC1 committee.

In 2006-2011, he became an LC3 councilor.

In 2011-2021, he became a district councilor for Usuk Sub County.

He is currently a service adviser to his highness Paul Sande Emolot-Etomaileng, the ICU cultural leader, where his name has crossed borders through promoting Ateker and NRM principles of leadership.
