NEWS- Bugisu Cooperative Union (BCU) Chairman, Hassan Nathan Nandala – Mafabi , has pledged to spearhead the construction and completion of the Nakaloke Center Mosque in Mbale city , which will be the second largest mosque in Uganda after the Gaddafi Mosque at Old Kampala.
The Budadiri West MP in Sironko District made these remarks during a site visit on Friday afternoon.
“We want to complete the second floor so we can begin work on the third one and finish the entire construction,” Mafabi stated.
“A lot of money is still needed to complete this mosque. I thank President Museveni, who has done a great job, but we still need more contributions. I will lead this team to him to secure additional support for the construction until this mosque is complete,” Nandala said.
Nandala urged everyone, regardless of religion, to come together and contribute to the mosque’s completion.
“I am appealing to everyone Muslims, Christians, and even those of other beliefs to join us in building this mosque. If you seek blessings, come to Nakaloke,” Mafabi said.
Silliman Faris Hassan Balamazi, the Imam of Nakaloke Center Mosque, expressed his gratitude to Hon. Nandala and everyone who has contributed to the mosque’s construction.
“Today is a historic day as MP Nandala has committed to supporting us. We are thankful for his help in finishing the construction, especially the section where men will conduct prayers. May Allah reward him,” Faris noted.
Nandala’s involvement is seen as a blessing to the Nakaloke community. “The first floor is designated for shops, which we believe will help the mosque cover its expenses, like water and electricity bills,” he added.
“I also thank President Museveni, other government officials and all Ugandans for their support and emphasize the need for additional funds to complete the project.” Faris said.
On behalf of the construction committee, elders, and the Nakaloke community, as the Imam of this facility, I extend my appreciation for the support received from everyone so far.
Deputy RCC Yahaya Were also thanked Chairman Nandala for his support towards the mosque. He urged everyone to join Hon. Nandala in contributing to the mosque’s construction, noting that “building a mosque earns you a house in Jannah.”
MP Nandala confirmed that construction works will begin on Monday, August 19th, 2024.
