RUKUNGIRI- As a way of developing sports in Rukungiri district and preparing for the Boona Cup Second edition, Hon Counsel Isaac Atukunda, the Rukungiri Municipality Aspiring Member of Parliament has supported the football teams from all Municipal divisions in the tournament slated for Sunday, 17th November.
Speaking on behalf of Counsel Isaac Atukunda while handing over the support which included jerseys, balls and whistles, Hon. Mucunguzi Fred, the Eastern Division District Councilor implored the players that are going to represent their divisions to express maximum discipline as it is key to their success.
Mucunguzi, the Political assistant to Counsel Isaac challenged them to play harder to win this year’s trophy adding that the team in the Municipality that will win the Boona Cup will be given a goat to roast as they celebrate the victory.
Hon Innocent Muhwezi, the head of sports in team Counsel Isaac challenged those that received the equipment to take good care of them such that they last longer and help them develop their career.
Ngabirano Denis, the Southern Division Chairperson commended Counsel Isaac Atukunda for the support that rendered to all teams in the Municipality adding that this will motivate the players and give them courage to fight for the victory of their areas.
Tugumisiriize Henry alias Henry Manchester United, one of the coordinators of the Boona Cup comforted the players and supporters that this edition will abide by the rules and regulations set by the organisers.
He revealed that the first edition had some rules broken but assured them that this time, there is no room for errors.
