NEWS– The Kasese Youth Link for Development Executive Director Mr. Ronald Kato has called upon students in the District to join the fight against domestic violence which is among the factors that affect the education sector.
Mr. Kato made the call yesterday while talking to students of Holy dove vocational secondary school, Morning star secondary school and Munkunyu secondary school at their respective schools during a tour aiming at imparting students with knowledge on how best they can deal with the domestic violence challenges from their homes.
He noted that domestic violence can be dealt with through a number of areas including attending church services and activities, embrace joining peace clubs which are pro-development and embracing education among others.
To the community members, Mr, Kato says Domestic violence can be prevented from homes if all the parties in the family engage is productive work, unity and working together as a tool to family development and also courted students to emulate the same while at school.

He noted that school going children were also facing violence especially the girls when boys treat them in a bad way when they are on menstrual period saying the criticism by school mates is also a violence which he said should stop.

Some of the students told the gathering that violence against students was now reducing since the introduction of Kasese Youth link for development groups in different schools since they have been teaching them about peace building, training them on practical agriculture among others.
