KAMPALA- The President of National Unity Platform-NUP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine, has asked Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, the newly appointed Buganda Region Deputy President to remain loyal to the principles of the National Unity Platform-NUP.

Kyagulanya has been speaking at Makerere Kavule the home of NUP, shortly after announcing Kivumbi, as his deputy for the Buganda region, a replacement the Nyendo Mukungwe MP, Mathius Mpuuga, who was suspended by the Party over the controversial 500 million service awards, when he was the leader of Opposition in parliament.

Although Kivumbi has been appointed alongside Jacqueline Tukamushaba, the new Western Uganda Deputy President who replaced the late Jolly Mugisha, Kyagulanyi’s emphasis was solely on Muwanga Kivumbi, stating that he is the head of the NUP’s stronghold and home ground Buganda.

“All these people are excited about your appointment, but I want to remind you that in NUP, the leaders are the servants and those they lead are the bosses. Those are our values. Everyone has to know this as the 10 commandments.” – Robert Kyagulanyi said.

Kyagulanyi stated that Kivumbi’s appointment was a result of the trust placed in his understanding and knowledge of leadership and Uganda’s economic landscape, and now the focus is on trusting his loyalty and commitment to the cause.

“Everyone in Uganda trusts Muwanga’s knowledge and understanding the issues affecting our people, but at the moment, we want also to test our trust to his heart, please don’t disappoint them. We have previously trusted some people because of their knowledge, but we have been disappointed.”Kyagulanyi said.

He asked him to work hard and increase the NUP’s support and popularity since it is their foundation and stronghold before taking over other regions in the struggle to take over the leadership of Uganda.
