EAB Council Acting ED Adrian Njau, SG of Pan African Postal Union Dr Sifundo Moyo exchange predentaries

NEWS- The East African Business Council (EABC), represented by its Acting Executive Director, Adrian Njau has held a strategic engagement with the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) General Secretariat on 9 May 2025 to explore avenues of cooperation that promote regional integration and socioeconomic development.

During the meeting, the Pan African Postal Union Secretary General, Dr. Sifundo Chief Moyo and Assistant Secretary General, Ms Jessica Ssengooba, focused on aligning efforts between the postal sector and the regional private sector. Discussions centered on identifying mutually beneficial opportunities to spur digitalization, e-commerce.

The meeting also focuses on innovation in the postal ecosystem, particularly through infrastructure development, policy and regulatory formulation, and capacity building for key stakeholders.

This engagement is a key step for East African Business Council in deepening public-private partnerships to drive transformative projects, improve service delivery, and position the postal sector as a critical enabler of trade, digitalization, e-commerce, and financial inclusion across Africa.

The cooperation between the two institutions will champion the East African Community regional bloc as a role model for the continent, with outcomes replicated in other regional blocs across Africa.

In a separated development, the Minister of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development Judith Nabakooba delivered a powerful speech at the Uganda Society of Architects’ Annual Sports Gala, held under the theme “Fundraising for Braillers & White Canes.” With passion and conviction.

She commended the architects for their kind act of social responsibility, emphasizing that community is built through design, architecture, compassion and inclusion.

She highlighted the significance of providing Braillers and White Canes to visually impaired Ugandans, enabling them to access education, communication, independence and empowerment.

The Minister also acknowledged the power of sports to bring people together and encouraged other professional bodies to champion causes that benefit the less privileged.

With her words, she declared the Sports Gala officially open, wishing participants a friendly yet spirited competition, but her speech left a lasting impression, inspiring the audience to work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
