NEWS- A mammoth of people from districts of Ntungamo, Rukungiri and others on Sunday thronged Ruraara cell, Rwakirunguura parish, Buyanja Sub County in Rukungiri district to send off the remains of the latElliot Kabangira Magande a.k.a Mzee wa Kazi who passed away on Thursday 22 February 2024 at Mulago hospital Kampala where he was receiving treatment.
The clergy, politicians, civil servants among others commended Mr Elliot Kabangira Magande who was committed to his job, loving everyone to their integrity, an example and everyone’s mentor.
Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe, the Bishop of South Ankole while preaching at the sendoff of the late Kabangira applauded the deceased as a man who loved people without segregation and discrimination urging mourners to educate their children, be trustworthy and repent their sins to secure places in heaven.
The Bishop urged the people to avoid segregation, discrimination and use their talent and gifts to develop their names. The Rubabo county Member of Parliament Hon. Naboth Namanya commended Kabangira who was committed mostly in all fields handled by him.
MP Namanya appealed to mourners to move at a snail’s pace if they want to reach a certain step adding that late Kabangira could move at a snail’s pace that made him achieve all that he was.
The legislator also urged the mourners to do better in all levels to earn a good name on earth and in heaven.
The half-brother to the late, Col. Bernerd Tugume said that Mr Kabangira was not only his brother but also a friend and eulogized him as a hardworking man, friendly to everyone. Col. Tugume also thanked the mourners who endeavored to send off the remains of the brave Kabangira adding that the best of Kabangira is endless and will remain within the hearts of the people.
The deceased’s widow Ms Eva Kabangira eulogized his husband that he was a committed, hardworking, and a social person adding that her husband succumbed to prostate related cancer illness and urged for cooperation among the deceased’s children.
Elly Katahinga representing radio Ankole staff hailed the people for the love they showed the late Kabangira, adding that the late was a commanding leader.
According to Ntungamo based daily monitor correspondent Perez Rumanzi, the late Elliot Kabangira was a mentor to everyone, especially journalists.
Rumanzi remarked that Kabangira worked as a teacher and he died as a Journalist stressing that the deceased worked with different radio stations including UBC, Kinkizi FM, Rukungiri FM and died while working with radio Ankole as a general manager.
The deceased’s children eulogized that their father was a strong man who worked hard to see everyone prosper. The Late Kabangira died at the age of 70 years.
