Bekunda added that the church-founded schools, which used to perform exceptionally well, have experienced a decline in final exam results, which is a cause for concern. She urged the public to shoulder the responsibility of helping these schools regain their former performance levels and called upon teachers to exert more effort in educating the future children of Uganda.

The School’s deputy Headteacher Asiimwe Herbert expressed gratitude to Hon. Grace Ankunda Bekunda for her pledge to support the school with exam sets.

He noted the school’s poor performance in the 2023 UPE exams, with no candidates achieving division one attributing it to challenges such as pupils being lured to private schools with promises of scholarships and high rates of absenteeism.

Rev. Ven. Mitanga Barigye of Kizinga Archdeaconry C.O.U urged parents to prioritize their children’s education in today’s competitive world and encouraged start up of income-generating projects to support community development.

Ven. Mitanga emphasized the importance of respecting and cooperating with both religious and political leaders for community development, urging the public to embody the principles of Jesus Christ in their daily lives.
