Kajojo addressing the LC Chairpersons

NEWS– The Kanungu District Chairman Eng Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo has called on the Local Council Chairpersons to work honestly in order to develop their communities.

Eng Arineitwe Kajojo made the remarks today while addressing Kanungu District Local Leaders consultative meeting at All Saints Church Kanungu which was aimed at how they can work together on road improvement and implementation of government programs in Kanungu District.

Eng Arinaitwe Kajojo urged LC 1 Chairpersons not to wait for government funds but engage in road maintenance (burungi bwansi) by mobilizing people in their villages, Subcounties and Town Councils for the good of roads in their communities.

He urged them to be vigilant on security because insecurity has increased in the district and also make vigilant groups that can respond to alarms and promote security and urged them to work together and conserve the environment.

While speaking at the same function, Kanungu District Speaker Frank Byaruhanga urged the LCs to always use their official stamp in a lawful way to avoid disputes in their villages and urged them to always have executive meetings and write minutes.

He also urged them to use Chairpersons of groups in order to develop their villages and use their power properly not to handle criminal offences but civil offences in there communities and lead in peace.

Ms Mutahakana Getrude who represented Kanungu District Chief Administrative Officer urged them to stop requesting money from members of the general public when stamping their documents and also stop sidelining individuals while handling LC courts which has increased mob justice in the communities.

She also urged them to be conscious on stamping on the loan agreements and requested those Chairpersons without official stamps to be patient.
