KAGADI- The Police in Kicucura sub-county Kagadi district are hunting for a man who allegedly hacked a brother to death after failure to pay a Ugx 2000 debt.

The deceased is Frank Asiimwe, while the suspect is John Twesige, both residents of Kicuucura village in Kicuucura Sub-County in Kagadi district.

Twesige, the suspect is said to have engaged his brother Frank Asiimwe in a fight after he allegedly demanded for his Ugx 2000 in vain.

The suspect is alleged to have persuaded his brother Asiimwe near his house, where he hacked him to death.

According to Aliganyira Bonny, the chairperson of Kicuucura village, the suspect has since gone into hiding. Aliganyira added that JohnTwesige is known for his bad acts in the village.

Family members have also revealed that they suspect Frank Asiimwe to have murdered his brother on Sunday night.

By press time, the body had been conveyed to Kagadi Hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination.

Meanwhile, the Albertine regional Police spokesperson Allan Julius Hakiza condemned the incident and cautioned the members of the public having grudges to always resolve them using peaceful means.

Hakiza attributed the high crime rates in the region to youths unemployment, high school dropout rates, laziness, drug abuse among others.
