NEWS- Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Florence Kabugho has fulfilled her pledge of making a statue for the 1st King of Obusinga Bwa-Rwenzururu Isaya Mukirania Kibanzanga.
Her proposal is to place at the Kasese Municipality roundabout.
According to the legislator, she decided to donate it to the Kingdom because Isaya Mukirania did a tremendous work of fighting for peace, unity and stability in Rwenzori region.
Last year Kasese central Division councilor Jane Biira (FDC) raised a private members motion of putting the statue of the 1st King at the Roundabout but some councilors from the NRM including the Division speaker Hon. Medard Muramuzi refused the proposal.
However this year Hon. Medard Muramuzi and other NRM councilors came with the same motion of erecting the statue and it was approved.
It’s now waiting for the official handover to the Kingdom administration to take the process of erecting at the proposed site and this will be after UNRA has approved the proposal.
