Along the way, he started feeling unwell, informed his crew who organised and called for another driver Samuel Kyaligonza from the nearby offices, i.e. Fortportal to take over from Nelson who at first was thought to be tired.

However, driver Nelson continued with the bus as they waited for Kyaligonza to find them along the way. Still, on the road, past Mubende town, at about approximately 5Km to Kyegegwa, driver Nelson felt he couldn’t go on with the journey and decided to park it along the way so that the next driver can take over from him.

Alinde told www.informer.co.ug that the bus conductor immediately addressed the passengers about what was happening before driver Nelson was taken to Kyegegwa for medical attention where he was diagnosed with malaria but is alive and getting better.

Alinded adds that Kyaligonza thereafter arrives and took charge of the bus, until all the passengers reached their destinations to the last point which was Kasese.

“The news of driver Nelson’s death is untrue, we don’t know the intent of those behind such information. I appeal to the public to disregard it and treat it as a lie. We promise to offer you the best service as usual” said Alinde.

Alinde added that “the management was grateful to the passengers who remained calm amidst the situation stressing that everyone can fall sick at anytime and anywhere like it happened to Nelson”.
