NEWS- The Police in Kisoro District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 24 year old Paul Munyambabazi, who had gone missing yesterday but his body was discovered today floating on lake Mutanda.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the incident saying that the deceased who was a hawker in Kampala had gone home for Easter season festivities.
It is reported that 15th April evening he was together with his two other friends identified as Nkurunziza Wilson and Nizeyimana Nelson and they decided to go and sleep at the funeral place where they had lost a person in the neighborhood at the home of one Muvunandinda Elias.
It is reported that during the night, they decided to go to the bar for some drinks from where the deceased disappeared, only to be discovered today morning in Lake Mutanda by fishermen.
The scene was visited by Police and the body has been retrieved from the lake with the assistance of locals and taken to Kisoro General Hospital mortuary where postmortem examination has been done and body handed over to the relatives for descent burial.
Maate explained that Nkurunziza and Nizeyimana were arrested to help in investigations after the postmortem report reveals possible strangulation, before drowning, meaning was taken to the water when it was lifeless.
