KASESE- As one way of preparing for the Mt. Rwenzori Tuskerlite Marathon and the Theluji festival when is set to happen in August this year, the business community in Kasese District has been called upon to embrace sanitation around their enterprise.
The call was made by the Kasese Municipality Member of parliament Hon. Ferigo Kambale while flagging off a communal cleaning activity of Kasese Municipality which was organized by Kasese tourism investors’ forum as one of the activities preparing the community about the Marathon event.
The legislator say’s sanitation and hygiene is a key factor the business community should address if they are to attract more clients especially in the tourism industry.
His worship the Mayor of Kasese Municipality Mr. Chance Kahindo who also participated in the activity noted that currently Kasese Municipality is ranking as the cleanest town in the Western Region a position which he said should be guarded through fighting garbage and polyethe bags.
Mr. Christopher Kabagambe the Municipality health inspector hailed Kasese Tourism investors for the efforts made to keep the Municipality clean through organizing cleaning activities and said if such is sustained it would help the Municipality to be elevated to a city status because the sanitation and hygiene has really supported the business of the area.
Dr. William Mugisha Kihire the general secretary at Kasese Tourism Investors Forum asked the youth to also embrace initiating enterprises in the tourism industry as one way of address unemployment.
