NEWS- A total of 860 students were admitted at Team University this academic year for different courses.
This was revealed by the academic registrar Dr. James Segawa on Thursday during an admissions ceremony presided over by the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lutaro Bbosa.
Dr. Segawa said among those admitted and registered this academic year are many compared to previous academic year stressing that the number of male students are more than their female counterparts. He said this year they received 521 males and 339 females with the Faculty of Education registering many students followed by the School of graduate studies and research.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Lutaro B Bbosa said that the major aim of the function is to know the number of students admitted at the University and how to retain them up to the end.
“The two major functions at any University are when you are receiving the students admitted like this one and when you’re graduating them'” he said.
He urged parents and students to meet their obligation of paying fees as the University entirely depends on the fees paid by the parents/ students.
Bbosa said that at Team, there are enough and committed staff who will lead the students in whatever they want.
“For us we are ready to engage you up to the end and make sure you become youthful citizens if you’re also ready to follow what they advise you to do” He said.
He added that with digital migration most of the students are attending the function visually in their respective areas, since the University encourages distance learning in order to help the students from spending a lot of funds on face to face learning.
Prof. Bbosa urged the students to be good ambassadors of Team University in their respective districts before tasking them to be good time managers in whatever they are doing saying time wasted will never be compensated at all.
Justus Katungye, a member of the University council said that Team University is the fastest growing University in the East Africa.
“This institution is unique because it has grown very fast in few years which is also reason we admit many students outside the country especially Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya and Rwanda among other countries,” he said
Okello Nafutari the students’ guild speaker thanked students for their wise decision of joining Team University describing the meaning of Team as Together Each of us Achieve More.
