NEWS– The Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development Hon Matia Kasaija has commended Africa Global Logistics for its contribution to Uganda’s transport infrastructure and logistics ecosystem.
In a speech read for him by the Minister Personal Assistant Emmanuel Mbabazi, at the launch of Africa Global Logistics in Uganda, Minister Kasaija noted that African Global Logistics dedication in Uganda that has facilitated trade relationships and enhanced Uganda’s competitiveness on the global stage and paved the way for greater and more opportunities and investments.
Africa Global Logistics is a Ugandan based company specialising in providing and sourcing specialist services and business consulting services for the procurement of products off shore for importers in East and Southern Africa.
Global Logistics is dedicated to providing freight forwarding and logistics solutions to customers in East and Central Africa,with the integrity of a trustworthy associate.
The Minister massage was read at the function that took place at Onomo Hotel along Akii Bua Road in Kampala yesterday under the theme, “Transforming Uganda’s Economic Landscape: The role of Africa Global Logistics in the Transport Sector “.
The Organisation has been operating in Uganda for the last 55 years and giving employment to over 300 people in the transport sector which is a huge milestone towards economic growth and prosperity.
Minister Kasaija, therefore congratulated Africa Global Logistics for the outstanding achievement as recognised by Uganda Revenue Authority who recently awarded them the “Walking the Journey of Voluntary Compliance” Award in recognition of their dedication and excellence in the 10 year journey as Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) which they pioneered in 2016.
Minister Kasaija noted that the transport sector is lifeblood of any nation’s economy and Uganda is no exception in attaining highest compliance levels which has enabled the country to contribute over Ugx 500 billion in form of revenue from the sector.
“It serves as a conduit that connects industries, business, and communities enabling the efficient movement of goods and services which makes the success of the transport sector pivotal to economic development where Africa Global Logistics is a key player” Minister Kasaija noted.

The Minister said that Africa Global Logistics achievements underscore the importance of public private collaboration which is a vital role private enterprises play in improving business environment.
“As we gather to launch Africa Global Logistics in Uganda, let us recognize that our journey is far from over. We must remain vigilant and continue to invest in infrastructure and embrace technology to stay at the forefront of the transport and logistics sector. Our ability to adapt and thrive in constantly changing global landscape will be a measure of our success as a country”, Minister Matia Kasaija observed.
He further said that he was confident that together, they will make Uganda a thriving hub for trade and commerce in Africa and therefore should embrace the opportunities and challenges ahead with the same determination and resilience that has brought them together up to this moment.
The Managing Director of Africa Global Logistics Ltd, which was formerly called Bollore Transport and Logistics Uganda Ltd, Harm Emaus thanked the Minister for responding to their call to preside over the function and pldged that his organisation is commited to transform the Transport and Logistics Sector across Africa.
