The Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, the Rt Rev Dan Zoreka has confirmed 71 Christians who included 46 female and 25 males into the Anglican faith in a service that was held at St Luke CoU Rushaka in Nyamirama Archdeaconry in Kanungu District.
The event is part of the ongoing farewell visits in churches and institutions in the Diocese of Kinkiizi as the Bishop and his wife Maama Flora prepares to end his episcopal leadership which he started on 10th October 2010.
In his sermon the Bishop challenged Christians from being sub-marine christians who only become active on Sunday’s and therefore should always show their christian qualities in their daily lifestyles.
He also narrated a story of the day he was announced a Bishop which was not the expectation of many people since he was not among the senior clergy in the diocese.
This he said that christian should faithfully expect only one Bishop out of the more than 90 priests in the diocese who will be elected and installed as 3rd Bishop of the Diocese on the 30th May 2027 and made it categorically clear that God does not consider size, height, or seniority as he referred to the story of David in the bible.
In their farewell song the children of Sunday school thanked the Bishop for his good shepherdhood during his tenure, especially for projects in their area and most especially for the establishment of the Secondary School and a Compassion Centre which they said they have led to the development of the Rushaka community.
