President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has announced Ugx 5 billion support for digital/social media content creators and promised to grant them opportunities for advertisement of government programs and initiatives.
President Yoweri Museveni noted that a replica of the Musicians musicians Sacco is will soon be rolled out digital/ social media content creators as a wealth creation intervention for them.
President Museveni made the announcement today March 1st 2026, while in an interaction during the second Raanch edition of Jazz with Jajja at Kisozi residence in Gomba district.

President Museveni hinted on plans to establish a joint body to manage Funding for all creatives in future and confirmed government plans to scaleup funding for artisanship and skills vocations to drive production and wealth creation.
The plans entails enhancing The Science Technology and Innovation Fund currently rolled out in higher institutions of learning through the ministry of ICT, grants for Presidential skilling Hub graduates and the artisans in different displines.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni charged the populace to keep track of the utilisation of the funds and promised to increase slots for youth appointments into government positions but guided them to ensure proper ideological inclination to suit the roles they desire for nation building.
The President explained the distinction between ideology and biological in national development and has discouraged ideological disorientation of youths and tasks youths to take advantage of wealth creation opportunities in the 4 core sectors of commercial agriculture, artisanship and Manufacturing, ICT and the services sector to advance their regional competitive in East Africa and at the African continent level
President Museveni guides that Uganda’s growth and development trajectory in those 4 mentioned sectors is vivid and proven with several successful stories documented to that effect and warned youths against undermining and neglecting wealth creation programs initiated by government and the broaders private sector.
He noted that on through productivity of youths they can harness and dominate broader markets and guided youths to have clarity on Africa’s integration for shared prosperity.
President Museveni hinted on plans to further lower the cost of Internet citing progress of engagements with Star Link proprietor Elon Mask and revealed plans to further tighten cyber security interventions as a counter remedy to digital crime and further guided on how optimize Internet opportunities for business.
While speaking at the same event, the First Lady Maama Jannet Kataha Museveni said that the promotion of creative arts and the sports sector are important but also discouraged talented youths against following the diaspora illusion and asked them to concentrate on wealth creation in productive ventures at home.
She also reminded youths to interest themselves in building their family bussineses as where initiated by their parents.
