The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja Robinah y6es joined the people of Kyegegwa district to officiate at this Year’s belated women’s day celebrations.
The Prime Minister was received by the Deputy Attorney General Hon Jackson Kafuuzi Karugaba, National women Council Chairperson Hajat Faridah Kibowa, Members of Parliament, Local and religious leaders.
Women’s day is organized to recognize and honor women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements and it’s a day to celebrate women’s progress, acknowledge challenges, and advocate for greater equality.
While addressing the thousands of people who turned up to attend the function, Prime Minister Nabbanja said that such events are also essential to celebrate the significant contributions women make to Ugandan society in various fields from politics and business to education and healthcare.
Kyegegwa District leaders used today’s platform to showcase the progress uganda has made in empowering women and advancing gender equality while also acknowledging areas where more work needs to be done.
