NEWS- A 46 year old man in Rukungiri has been clobbered to death on suspicion of pig theft.
The deceased according ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesman is Nelson Arinaitwe alis Kidudu, a resident of Rugoma cell Ruyonza parish Nyarushanje sub county Rukungiri district.
According to Police records, it’s alleged that on the 6th September 2024 during night hours, at Katungu cell, Kahoko parish, Nyakishenyi Sub County, an unknown person(s) stole Mutesigensi Saini’s pig.
When he realized the theft, he put announcements on area radio stations as he continued tracing for his stolen pig.
That, on 26th September 2024 at around 1500hrs, the Ruyonja parish councilors in Nyarushanje Sub County rang Mutesigensi informing him that his pig was found in possession of Arinaitwe Nelson alias Kidudu.
Mutesigensi rushed to the scene in Rugoma cell where he found the suspect tied with ropes and seriously beaten, lying beside the pig (exhibit) at Omukarere trading centre.
He was then escorted to Rubabo police station along with the pig (exhibit).
The OC station Rubabo upon realizing the health of the suspect, took him to God’s care centre clinic where he was shortly pronounced dead.
The scene was visited and documented, statements recorded from relevant witnesses and the body was conveyed to Rwakabengo HC3 Mortuary for postmortem.
