First cohort of learners at Kebisoni Seed School

NEWS- The Rukungiri District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata, has urged school-going children to respect their teachers and parents as schools reopen for the first term of 2024.

Hon. Natukunda points out that success in academics is closely linked to the students’ respect for their parents, who work hard to pay their school fees, as well as their teachers and school administrators, who dedicate themselves to providing knowledge for the future generation.

She called upon school administrators to understand the challenges parents face, particularly regarding school fees, and requested them to allow students into classes as parents work towards meeting their financial obligations.

Hon. Natukunda commended parents for keeping their children safe during the extended holiday and encouraged teachers to take good care of the students throughout the term, ensuring a safe return to their parents at the end.

Highlighting the achievement of Kebisoni Seed School reopening after nearly two years, despite facing challenges, she expressed confidence that these issues would be addressed as the term progresses.

The legislator praised the efforts of Mr. Kahanyi Charles, the Kebisoni Sub County Chairperson, district leaders, the Head Teacher of Kebisoni Seed School, Hon. Naboth Namanya, and fellow Rukungiri Members of Parliament, along with other stakeholders, for their contributions to the successful reopening of the school.

Hon. Natukunda encouraged parents in the Kebisoni area to enroll their children at Kebisoni Seed School, emphasizing that the government fully funds the school with the goal of providing affordable education to the local community.
