NEWS- The police in Kabale district have arrested Shimark Alfonse, a Rwandan national who was caught attempting to vandalize solar panels in Kabale municipality.
ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, informed our reporter that the suspect was apprehended red-handed atop of a solar panel at NSSF Makanga road, Central Division, Kabale municipality, in an attempt to steal it.
Maate added that this incident occurred on 10/04/2024 around 5 am when two suspects were spotted at the top of a solar panel, but unfortunately, one managed to escape while the other was apprehended.
He confided to our reporter that operations against this crime will persist until all perpetrators are apprehended, urging the general public to remain vigilant and report any relevant information.
He emphasized that the police are striving to gather comprehensive information about the suspect’s associates to ensure their arrest and prosecution.
