Kasese teenagers

KASESE- Political, religious and cultural leaders in Kasese District have been urged to incorporate mindset change massages on education and fighting early marriages into their sermons as one way to intensify the campaign to have a positive impact in the community.

Since the leaders have a wider platform, if well utilized with good packaged information on emphasizing for education for all and fighting early marriages, the community could realize a positive outcome.

Mr. Ronald Kato the Executive Director Kasese Youth Link for development made the observation today afternoon at a careers day function at Rwenzori Vocational Collage (RVC) located in Railway ward in Kasese Municipality, the careers day was for the students under a project titled vocational skills for all with sponsorship from Belgium.

Mr. Kato says most families were still facing challenges that may affect the education of their children especially Domestic violence and other forms of gender based violence which needs leader’s attention to sensitize the community.

Mr. Patrick Masereka , the academic registrar asked the leaner’s to interest themselves with coping up with positive modern trends as a tool that could lead them realize their missions and visions to why they are in school.

Gomeri Nziabake, the project coordinator asked the learners to have hope, discipline and utilize available resources to archive their educational goals.

Some of the leaners including Faith Masika and Edreen Muhindo among the programs beneficiaries, called upon young mothers and fathers to enroll for vocation skilling as a tool for socio-economic transformation.
