NEWS- Two people were on Tuesday January 30th 204 confirmed dead in an accident registered by the Police in Ntungamo district. The victims are said to have been in their mid-twenties.

Information obtained by this reporter indicates that the accident happened at around 2:15 pm at Karambi trading centre off Ntungamo municipality about 2 and a half kilometers along Ntungmo-Mirama hills road.

Dawson Kamuhanda, a n eyewitness and resident of Keijengye cell, Kitembe parish Nyarutuntu sub-county who was at the scene by the time of the accident identified the victims as Amos Mugisha alias Kashokye, a resident of Bijaaba II Karambi parish Nyarutuntu sub county who was riding motorcycle and one Collins, a student at Nyarutuntu nursing training institute Ntungamo, but hailing from Kanungu district who was heading to Ntungamo town to deposit tuition fees.

Kamuhanda added that the accident happened when the rider of motorcycle Bajaj Boxer registration number UFY 772N rammed into a Toyota premio registration number UBJ 279 B that was coming from Ntungamo Municipality.

It is further said the motorcycle rider was trying to overtake another car both heading to Ntungamo municipality direction. Kamuhanda indicated that both the rider and passenger during the process crossed from their lane and rammed into a Toyota Primo that ended their lives on spot.

Police confirmed the incident and promised to issue the full statement after the autopsy.

The principal of Nyarutuntu nursing training institute Ntungamo, Wilber Tukamuhabwa did not pick our repeated calls to comment on the matter.
