KAMPALA– The Minister of Education and Sports Janet Kataha Museveni has given a six-month ultimatum to all business, technical and vocational institutions to re-register with the ministry or else they revoke their Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board UBTEB center numbers.

In her message delivered by the state Minister in charge of Primary Education Joyce Moriku Kaducu during the release of the May/June Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board results at Uganda institute of information and communication technology –Nakawa, the Minister noted that all the institutions who have not re-registered with the Ministry have up to January 2025 to do so.

Kadocu directed UBTEB to start withdrawing the examination centers from all institutions without valid licenses and order them not to register students to sit UBTEB exams.

She has also directed the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and the technical team from the Ministry to continue inspecting all business, technical and vocational institutions to make sure they meet with the minimum requirements.

The executive Secretary Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board Onesmus Oyesigye noted that 1,694 candidates sat the released exams from 220 examination centers. Of the total number, 880 were females and the rest were male.

Oyesigye also noted that out of all those who sat the exams, 1,468 acquired full competences and successfully completed their course.
