Ugandan made fire fighting equipment

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday presented Uganda’s innovative fire-fighting vehicle, named the ‘Muliro Eater’, to the Ambassadors of the USA, Russia, the UK and EU member states and its capability showcased the prototype during the meeting.

The President told his guests that he frequently watched on TV as fires devastated towns and regions in their countries and was inspired to combine African fire-fighting tactics with military tank technology to create this fire-eating vehicle.

President Museveni made it categorically clear that he hoped that the Ambassadors will embrace the proposal of the newly invented fire-fighting machinery and become  clients. 

He said that the initiative represents Uganda’s commitment to philanthropy and the promotion of African innovations.

Meanwhile President Yoweri Kaguta yesterday commissioned the US 23.8 million dollar Aga Khan University in Nakawa near Kampala and also presided of tge groundreaking for the Aga Khan Teaching Hospital.

During the function that was also attended by the Minister of Education and Sports Mrs Janet Kataha Museveni, the President thanked His Highness the Aga Khan and the Aga Khan Development Agency for their invaluable investments in Uganda across all sectors of our economy. 

The Aga Khan University and and the Hospital is a joint venture between the Government of Uganda and the Aga KhanNetworkFoundation. 

During the function President Museveni noted that the Government of Uganda provided the land and remain committed to enacting strong legislation that protects investors and helps create a robust private sector that boosts economic growth.
