KAMPALA- Lawrence Mujuni Mpitsi, the aspiring Member of Parliament for Rubabo County, is rallying his supporters to remain optimistic as he awaits his nomination from the NRM electoral commission.

His supporters are eager for the nomination, viewing it as a critical step toward success in the upcoming general elections.

In a recent statement, Mpitsi reassured his supporters that the NRM nomination period runs until June 30, emphasizing that there is still ample time for his official nomination. He dismissed rumors from opponents regarding his nomination status as malicious attempts to undermine his campaign, encouraging his supporters to stay mobilized.

Mpitsi specifically addressed social media claims from Thursday that suggested his disqualification from the race. These rumors alleged that Dr. Tanga Odoi, head of the NRM electoral body, had removed him from contention for unfounded reasons.

In an interview with our reporter, Mpitsi appeared determined, stating that such tactics are merely efforts by opponents to demoralize his base. He urged his supporters to remain steadfast until the final nomination date, asserting that those behind these rumors will ultimately be embarrassed.

As the nomination deadline approaches, Mpitsi is focused on maintaining momentum and preparing for a vigorous campaign.
