The Uganda People’s Defence Forces has published the list of successful candidates for its 2025 general recruitment, with physical assessments scheduled to commence on 5th August 2025 to 15th August 2025 at selected centres nationwide as stipulated in the program posted on the UPDF website.

In a statement released yesterday, the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs confirmed that the shortlist is now accessible via the official UPDF website, as well as at all District and Municipality Headquarters across the country.

The UPDF spokesperson and Director of Defence Public Information, Maj Gen Felix Kulayigye urged shortlisted candidates to present themselves with three recent passport-size photos, original academic certificates, and an application letter endorsed by their Local Council I chairperson, District Internal Security Officer, and Gombolola Internal Security Officer.

He also clarified that applicants who omitted their District of residence on the application forms should instead report to the district indicated on their national identity card.

Maj Gen Kulayigye warned that anyone found with falsified documents would face prosecution and stressed that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge and advised applicants to remain alert to fraudsters posing as UPDF agents.

Upon successful completion of the recruitment exercise, candidates will be required to report to Kaweweta Basic Military Training School in Ngoma, Nakaseke District within three days.

This follows a successful exercise of submission of applications by candidates aspiring to join the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) and the Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to conducting a transparent and merit-based recruitment process and congratulated the shortlisted individuals and wished them well.
