NEWS- The Police in Kanungu District are hunting for a suspect only known as Sam who allegedly boxed a 21 years old fellow youth identified as Derrick Ainebyoona killing him instantly.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident that took place at Ibambiro village in Rusoroza Parish in Kihihi Subcounty in Kanungu District.
It is reported that Ainebyoona was at Godwin’s house being attended to by a woman friend known as Judith where the suspect, Sam picked an argument with him that resulted into a fight, but Sam overpowered him killing him instantly and fled from the village.
The case was immediately reported to the Ibambiro village LC 1 Chairman one Swaibun Bahati who in turn alerted the Police and the scene was visited and documented by a team of Detectives and Scene of Crime Officer and the body was recovered and taken to Kihihi Health Center IV Mortuary for postmortem examination.
Maate has since appealed to the general public who may know the whereabouts of the suspect to alert the Police so that is arrested and charged accordingly and the case of murder was registered at Kihihi Police Station under reference number CRB 347/2024 to help in investigations.
