Mosquito nets at Ntungamo District

Ntungamo District has received 335,050 treated mosquito nets from the government as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen malaria prevention across the country.

While receiving the nets the Deputy RDC Ntungamo Atuhaire Rosemary warned the general public against misusing nets for fishing, fencing gardens, or other non-medical purposes noting that security will not hesitate to arrest individuals found misusing them for legal action.

The District Health officer Dr Bahati Amon implored parish chiefs and VHTs to mobilize communities and organize the necessary logistics to facilitate distribution at parish and village levels.

On behalf of the CAO Deus Byaruhanga urged residents to use the mosquito nets strictly for their intended purpose of protecting families from mosquito bites that transmit malaria.

Government of Uganda is set to distribute 4.8 million mosquito nets targeting more than 8.1 million people across 32 districts including Agago, Amuru, Gulu, and Ntungamo among others.
