NEWS- Residents of Kyababinga – Kirembe Cell in the Central Division of Kasese Municipality were this evening treated with shock when they discovered one of their own lying lifelessly in a veranda.
Mr. Aganatia Bwambale Lhuhalha, the area Vice L. C I Chairperson confirmed the development and identified the deceased as Bernard Masereka, who according to could have died as a result of drinking excessive alcohol for three consecutive days without taking meals.
He, however, stressed that the deceased who had just spent three weeks living with his brother Kennedy Kule Asubuiyi in the area, hails from Nyakiyumbu II in Nyakiyumbu Sub-county, Bukonzo County West in Kasese District.
He subsequently warned the community members against the practice of taking excessive alcohol and the bar owners to regulate the time of operating their businesses.
However, when our reporter shared with Asubuyi, the deceased’s brother said his relative had been battling stomach ulcers for the weeks he had spent with him.
By press time, police had not yet issued an official statement about the matter but had transported the deceased’s body to Kasese Municipal Health Centre III mortuary for a postmortem examination.
