President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has met a team of American Researchers who are collaborating with Uganda to develop innovative treatments for cancer and diabetes derived from our plants.
The meeting took place yesterday at State House Nakasero and this underscores Uganda’s commitment to make partnerships that combine traditional knowledge and modern science to address health challenges among non communicable diseases.
Cancer remains to be one of the leading causes of death in Uganda around the world and the advent of modern drug-targeted therapies has undeniably improved cancer patients’ cares.
However, advanced metastasized cancer remains untreatable and this calls for continued searching for a safer and more effective chemo-prevention and treatment is clearly needed for the improvement of the efficiency and to lower the treatment cost for cancer care.
